Katie Reynolds joins the 2021 GDYF Junior Board officer team!!

Hello, My name is Katie Reynolds. I am a ninth-grader at Calhoun High School and I am involved with my local 4-H program and FFA Chapter. I have been around animals ever since I can remember. In 2015 our family purchased a farm and that began my passion for the agriculture industry. The farm has given me the opportunity to develop my own herd. It is called Moo Genetics and currently I compete in the University Junior Herd Builder Program. I have a $4,000 dollar youth loan with AgGeorgia Farm Credit to purchase cattle for my business.

Although I enjoy running my cattle operation, I also love competing in many events through 4-H and FFA. I have competed in Creed Speaking, Dairy Judging, Livestock Judging, Veterinary Science, and many more. I have been an FFA officer for the past two years. As an eighth-grader, I served as a Junior Representative, and as a freshman, I currently serve as Vice President. I am a member of the Georgia Junior Cattlemen's Association, as well as being active with my family in the Gordon County Young Farmers Association. I have been a member of the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation for several years.

ince becoming involved in the agriculture industry, I have grown in my understanding of the business aspect as well as the science and agricultural perspective of herd management. While serving on the GDYF Board, I hope to grow my understanding of the dairy industry and hope to increase the involvement of younger generations.
