2024 Dairy Quiz Bowl

Dairy is a unique competition testing the youth’s knowledge in a variety of dairy topics in a jeopardy style competition where contestants race to buzz in to give the right answer before the other team does. Topics range from dairy products, ruminant nutrition, milk quality, calf care, heifer raising, veterinary care, and just about anything you can think of about the dairy industry. Students spend months studying with their coach, interacting with local subject experts, and developing lightning-fast reflexes on the buzzer.

This a 4-H event where youth compete as Junior and Senior teams with their county. The state winning Senior team goes on to compete at the North American International Livestock Exposition in November in Louisville, KY. The Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation supports this activity by sponsoring the state winning team’s trip to Louisville, as not all youth can afford an out of state trip. Georgia has had winning and top four teams over the years and GDYF is proud to sponsor the hard studying youth representing Georgia.

If you are an adult interested in supporting the 4-H activity, also reach out to the above contacts to coach an existing team, develop a new team or help by presenting on your specialist areas during practice.
