Jessie Prickett has developed a passion for the dairy industry through showing commercial dairy heifers and competing in dairy judging. As a member of the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation Junior Board, Jessie is also active in her county 4-H club and her high school FFA chapter.
Her favorite dairy activity is showing commercial dairy heifers. Through showing, Jessie says she has learned more about responsibility, leadership, and the value of hard work. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to show Red and White Holsteins, Black and White Holsteins, and Jerseys.
One of Jessie’s proudest accomplishments in the dairy industry came in 2026, when her county’s senior 4-H dairy judging team won first place at the State 4-H Dairy Judging Competition. The win earned the team the opportunity to represent Georgia at the National Dairy Judging Contest at World Dairy Expo. Dairy judging has been an especially successful activity for Jessie. During her three years as a member of the Hall County 4-H Dairy Judging Team, her team has placed first each year.
Through her involvement in dairy youth activities, Jessie has learned the importance of determination, hard work, and being willing to listen to the advice of others. She believes success requires putting in the work for what you want while also learning from the people around you.
Jessie hopes other young people involved in dairy activities will have the opportunity to develop confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills while also building friendships along the way.
Outside of her dairy activities, Jessie stays involved in both 4-H and FFA. And when it comes to enjoying the products produced by the dairy industry, Jessie has a clear favorite: ice cream!
