Maggie Hall, an 11th grader from Lee County, has been involved in the dairy industry for six years and currently serves as President of the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation Junior Board. As an active member of National FFA Organization, Maggie has developed a strong passion for animal agriculture and dairy science through her experiences in the industry.
Her favorite dairy activity is participating in the Commercial Dairy Heifer Show Program, which she says has strengthened both her skills and knowledge while also creating lifelong friendships. Maggie credits the program with shaping who she is today and says she is grateful for every opportunity and experience it has provided.
One of Maggie’s proudest accomplishments came when she competed in the National FFA Dairy Evaluation and Management Career Development Event, where she and her teammates had the honor of representing the state of Georgia. The team placed 11th in the nation, and Maggie individually earned a gold ranking by placing in the top 50 nationally. She describes the achievement as both surreal and fulfilling.
Through dairy youth activities, Maggie has learned that failure is an important part of growth and improvement, believing that challenges help build skills and character. She hopes other young people involved in dairy will gain the same friendships and connections that have meant so much to her, emphasizing that the dairy industry feels like a family where everyone supports each other’s success.
Outside of dairy activities, Maggie stays active as an FFA officer and is dedicated dancer. She has been involved in dance since she was three years old. After high school, Maggie plans to attend the University of Georgia to major in Animal and Dairy Science with the goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian.
