Meet Jennifer Brinton

Meet Jennifer Brinton

Before you learn much about me you should probably know that I have OCD…(Obsessive Cow Disorder.) I am much in debt to Coweta County 4-H for sparking this passion in me. I always take every opportunity to be involved in dairy clubs and programs such as, Dairy Quiz Bowl, Dairy Judging, and the Commercial Dairy Heifer Program. The experiences I have had in 4-H have taught me so much about responsibility, work ethic, and leadership. It has really shaped me into who I am today!

Something about me that surprises some people, is that I have been homeschooled all my life. Homeschooling has taught me a lot about commitment and I love it a lot. I promise I’m not one of the “weird homeschoolers” though. Currently, I am a rising tenth grader. In the future, I plan on majoring in dairy science.

Determination is one of my top values. There is a quote that goes, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” Even though it sounds really cheesy, the message from this quote is something that I strive to live by. Recently, I had the honor of competing at the National Dairy Judging Contest. Without the drive and dedication I have learned from 4-H and GDYF, I never would have made it that far.

My goal while being on the GDYF Junior Board is to encourage young people to become more active in learning about dairy and sharing information about agriculture with others. Through 4-H, FFA, and GDYF, kids have so many opportunities to use their experience and knowledge to reach out and help educate the public about agriculture. This is something that I feel is extremely important to do in today’s world.
