On Friday, March 28th, the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation hosted its 15th Annual Golf Tournament at Hard Labor Creek in the Rutledge/Social Circle area. Players arrived and checked in, ate lunch and headed out to the links. They competed in a four person Lauderdale Scramble format. We were fortunate to have 16 teams competing this year, with Walton EMC taking home the top prize, followed by Mountain Fresh Creamery in second. We also held two special contests, the longest drive and for closest to the pin. Caleb Compton of the Godfrey Dairy team won longest drive, while Aaron Watt of Clermont Farms won closest to the pin. We are also grateful to the generous donations made by companies and individuals to support Georgia dairy youth. Below is a list of sponsors along with some of the day's photos.

The golf tournament is GDYF's spring fundraiser. Activities supported through donations include judging, dairy quiz bowl, the Southeast Dairy Youth Retreat, Dairy Challenge, local dairy heifer shows and workshops, FFA SAE's, and more. We want our students and teams to use their highest potential to succeed at their chosen event at the local, state and national levels. A specific example is that GDYF helps the Georgia state winning dairy judging team make the trip to Nationals at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI every year.
