Meet Makenzie Hale, GDYF'S SECRETARY AND REPORTER

Makenzie Hale, our Secretary and Reporter, has a passion for the dairy industry which was inspired by her father whom she says still continues to encourage and inspire her today. This Oconee County rising senior enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with her show heifers. She began showing seven years ago and has not stopped since.

Makenzie attends Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, GA, and was selected as one of their students for the Georgia Governor’s Honor Program (GHP) for Agriculture Science this year. She recently attended the GHP residential summer program, which offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom and is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.

During the next year as a GDYF junior board member, Makenzie hopes to get to know even more of the dairy youth in Georgia than she has already had the pleasure of meeting. She also wants to expand her leadership capabilities and explore her interest in Food Animal Veterinary Medicine.
