Meet Emma Newberry, GDYF's go-to girl

Emma Newberry, a sophomore at Oconee County High School, is currently serving as the chairperson for the GDYF Jr. Board Fundraising Committee. Within her school and community, Emma is a leader among peers and serves as an officer for both her local and regional FFA chapters. Emma’s passion for the dairy industry began five years ago when she exhibited her first heifer as a fifth grader. Today, Emma says that she has the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation’s commercial dairy heifer showing program to thank for her knowledge of livestock care and for the many friendships she has with fellow exhibitors across the state! Thankful for what this life changing program has taught her, Emma believes that being a member of the Junior Board is the best way to share her passion with other dairy youth in Georgia. While serving on the board, she also hopes to further her own knowledge of and become more active in the dairy industry.
