Fall Show Season Schedule

It’s That Time of The Year Again

The fall commercial dairy heifer show season has begun and will run through October for fair season. The season highlight is the show during the Georgia National Fair, in Perry, GA October 6th-8th. Although the Perry fair’s eligible birth date range is March 1, 2022, and August 1, 2023, most of the heifers shown will be the same ones shown as in February, by the same or even new exhibitors. The heifers will have spent the summer maturing at their home dairies, and many are breeding age between 13 and 15 months old and weighing between 750 and 800 pounds at breeding. Below is a list of more fall shows listed on the Georgia 4-H and FFA websites. This list is not exhaustive so stay in contact with your advisors, agents, and those two websites. Some counties will have smaller local shows as well. Several of these shows have online entry forms, as well as handwritten, so be on the lookout for either one.

August

· August 24-27, 2023 – Chattooga County Agricultural Fair– Commercial Dairy Heifer Shows – Summerville , GA

September

· September 9, 2023 – White County Dairy Heifer Show– Cleveland, GA

· September 9-12, 2023 – Chattahoochee Mountain Fair – Clarkesville, GA.

· September 14-24, 2023 – Gwinnett County Fair – Lawrenceville, GA.

· September 16, 2023 – Coweta County Junior Commercial Dairy Heifer Show – Coweta Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan, GA.

October

· October 6-8, 2023 – Georgia National Fair – Perry, GA

The show in Perry will have its annual costume contest, so start getting creative now!
