Meet GDYF'' Junior Board Officer Lilly Peppers
Hi everyone! My name is Lilly Peppers and I am a junior at Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia. I am an active member of the Lee County High FFA program and have served as an officer for the last 5 years. I joined FFA 6 years ago, and enjoy participating in poultry, dairy, and livestock judging. I have also competed in creed speaking, floriculture, and many other CEDs. Outside of FFA, I cheer with the Varsity football and the game-day cheering teams. I am Captain of the Varsity Competition Cheerleading team and work hard with my academics to maintain a 4.0 GPA.
My faith is also very important to me. I am an active member of the Leesburg First Baptist Church. I am involved in the youth group and volunteer my time whenever possible. When I am not at the church, FFA, or cheer, I can be found at SmallCakes in Albany. It's a delicious cupcakery where I bake treats and work as a customer service representative.
My love of dairy started in the second grade when my sister started showing cows in middle school. I often helped her with her cow and had a fun time showing in the Pee Wee class. When I was in fifth grade, I cared for my first show cow, Ivy. My mom liked to call her Poison Ivy because.... let's just say she was difficult. Ivy taught me patience and perseverance, and every year I have grown more and more confident. I love the showmanship class and strive hard to excel in the ring each year. I look forward to serving my first year on the GYDF Junior Board in 2021. I can't wait to learn more about the dairy industry and meet new dairy industry friends.
