Meet Maryellen Pate

My name is Maryellen Pate and this year I will be a Junior at Foothills Charter School in Madison County. This will be my second year serving on the Georgia Dairy Youth Junior Board and my 5th year showing Commercial Dairy heifers. I wasn’t born into a family farm, or really introduced to agriculture until the 6th grade. I immediately became interested in the dairy industry and found out how to get started in the Commercial Dairy heifer program. Ever since then my passion for dairy has done nothing but continue to grow! I am beyond proud to be part of an industry with so many amazing people and families.

In my free time I love nothing more than a road trip with a good peach milkshake, ending the day by coming home and loving on my 10 (mostly) rescued dogs and 2 cats. My hobbies include writing, photography, and volunteering at my local animal shelter.
