Dairy Festival

The Pilot Club of Eatonton, Georgia hosted their annual dairy festival and parade on Saturday, June 3rd. Several GDYF Junior Board members rode in the parade to represent the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation and all of Georgia dairy youth.

Every June, during National Dairy Month, the Pilot club pays tribute to the dairy industry and their local dairy farms and farm families by creating and hosting the Dairy Festival. The festival is a fun time for all Putnam and nearby citizens. Activities during and around the festival include class reunions, family gatherings, a 5K, the Got Milk educational trailer, awards, vendors, and delicious food. The highlight of the festival is the parade. Any unique vehicle, marching group, animal or float comes through downtown Eatonton. The floats are even judged in a friendly competition based on their take of the parade theme.

This year, the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation received recognition for their continued support of dairy youth activities across Georgia. The non-profit supports activities such as dairy quiz bowl, dairy judging, dairy showing, the Southeast Dairy Youth Retreat and supervised agricultural experiences.
