Larson Newsome, a Great Addition to the GDYF Junior Board!

Hi! My name is Larson Newsome and I am a sophomore at Lee County High School. I serve as Parliamentarian for the Lee County FFA Program. I enjoy showing dairy heifers and competing in dairy evaluation with my chapter. My passion for dairy cows started in seventh grade when my middle school FFA advisor, Josh Drew, showed me a check for a new cattle trailer he had just bought. I asked him, "What is that for?," and Mr. Drew told me that it was for the show teams. His enthusiasm and passion for showing were contagious! A couple of weeks later I had my own heifer and completely fell in love with caring for her.

Outside of showing cows and FFA, I am a member at First Baptist Church Leesburg where I am involved with serving others. I also play football for the Trojans. I enjoy working hard, helping others, and seeing what I can accomplish when I set my mind to something. I look forward to serving on the GDYF Junior Board this year.
